SPECIAL FORCES TRAINING TIMELINE
PHASE 1
BASIC TRAINING/AIT/AIRBORNE
BASIC: 10 weeks, if not prior service Army, Marines, Navy SPECOPS or Air Force SPECOPS/Security Force.
Advanced Individual Training (AIT): timeline depends on MOS, if not Army MOS-qualified (for prior service).
AIRBORNE: 3 weeks if not Airborne qualified, Fort Moore, GA.
Special Forces Readiness Evaluation/Assessment Drill (SFRE/SFAD); NG SF unit "try-out": one day or three day event.
PHASE 2
Special Forces Assessment and Selection
3 weeks, Fort Liberty, NC
Selected candidates return to their units before PCSing to attend the Qualification Course (unless they are 18X contracts)
PHASE 3
Special Forces Qualification Course
Officers: Either resident Maneuver Captains Career Course (MCCC): 16 weeks at Fort Moore, GA, or Special Operations Captains Career Course (SOCCC): 12 weeks at Fort Liberty, NC
SFQC: 53 weeks plus or minus, Fort Liberty, NC.
SFOC- 3 weeks
Tactical Skills- 7 weeks
MOS- 15 weeks
Robin Sage Exercise- 3 weeks
Language Training - 16-24 weeks
